Governor Edy's Commitment To Disburse IDR 810 Billion Repairing Roads In The Highlands, From Simalungun To Humbahas

MEDAN - The North Sumatra Provincial Government has allocated a budget of IDR 2.7 trillion for infrastructure improvements until 2023 and IDR 810 billion or 30 percent of the infrastructure budget for the highland zone.

The areas included in the highland zone are Simalungun, Karo, Dairi, Pakpak Bharat, Pematangsiantar, Toba, Samosir, North Tapanuli and Humbang Hasundutan (Humbaha) regencies. In the highlands zone there will be road repairs along 120 kilometers.

North Sumatra Governor (Gubsu) Edy Rahmayadi said road or infrastructure repairs were carried out to provide convenience to the community.

"If one kilometer costs Rp 5 billion, it means that if the money is Rp 300 billion, a year it is only 60 kilometers, when will it be completed, then these are the steps we will take," he said as quoted by Antara, Monday, March 21.

The sections and lengths of roads to be repaired are in nine regencies/cities in the highlands for the 2022-2023 fiscal year, namely in Simalungun Regency along 24.6 kilometers.

In Pematang Siantar City 5.64 kilometers, North Tapanuli 14.3 kilometers, Humbang Hasundutan 12.5 kilometers, Toba 14 kilometers, Samosir nine kilometers and Karo 26.67 kilometers.

Then in Dairi Regency, repairs were carried out for 11 kilometers and in Pakpak Bharat Regency for 2.4 kilometers.

Gubsu Edy said that in the same year his party will also carry out various priority infrastructure developments. Among them is the construction of the Aek Pardomuan Bridge in North Tapanuli.

Construction of building to strengthen the cliffs of the Aek Siborgung Tarutung River, North Tapanuli, the Simalungun Bah Bolon River cliff, and the Simalungun Bah Lombut River cliff. As well as rehabilitation or repair and construction of flood control infrastructure on the Lau Mbelin River and Lau Nagan River, Karo.
