SERANG - The Navy (TNI) launched two 60-meter fast patrol boats (PC-60 M), namely KRI Dorang-874 and KRI Bawal-875, which are the work of the nation's children as proof of the independence of the domestic defense industry.

The Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy (KSAL) Admiral TNI Yudo Margono, said the construction of the patrol boat was inseparable from the development of the Indonesian Navy's strength, in accordance with strategic planning aimed at supporting the fulfillment of the tasks of the Navy.

"The realization of capacity building from the fulfillment of these patrol boats must also be supported by increasing the capabilities and professionalism of soldiers, as a manifestation of a professional, modern and tough Indonesian Navy," said Yudo at the PT Caputra Mitra Sejati Shipyard, Ampel Island Serang, Banten, Monday, March 21.

The fast patrol boat has a length of 60 meters, a width of 8.50 meters, and a weight of 440-520 tons, with a maximum speed of 24 knots, a cruising speed of 17 knots, and an economical speed of 15 knots.

The two KRIs also have the endurance to sail for six days and are able to carry 46 personnel plus nine reserve personnel.

"This warship is also equipped with a 40 mm main cannon (single barrel) capable of tracking system equipped with a laser Range Finder, IR Camera, and Day Camera; so that it can be fired from the Fire Control System. While other weapons are two 12.7 cannon units. mm," he explained as reported by Antara. KRI Dorang-874 will strengthen the ranks of the patrol elements under the Indonesian Navy's lX Ambon Main Base, while KRI Bawal-875 will carry out the duties of the patrol elements under Lantamal XlV Sorong.

The launch of the warship was marked by a procession of breaking the jug by the General Chairperson of Jalasenastri Vero Yudo Margono, as the Mother of the Vessel, cutting the mooring rope, and handing over the miniature ship.

After the inauguration of the KRI, Yudo Margono and his entourage saw the condition of the ship, from the deck to the ship's bridge.
