PDIP Values Anies Raise Sudirman Said To Be Transjakarta Commute Just Because Of His Proximity

JAKARTA - Member of Commission B of the DKI DPRD from the PDIP faction, Gilbert Simanjuntak, criticized the appointment of Sudirman Said as President Commissioner of PT Transjakarta by DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan.

According to Gilbert, Anies made Sudirman Said as the BUMD boss in the transportation sector because the two have a close relationship, not because of performance.

"The proximity element stands out because the background is not supportive," Gilbert said in a text message, Friday, March 18.

Although this appointment is under the authority of Anies. However, according to him, people who deserve to serve as commissioners and directors of Transjakarta are people who are able to fix Transjakarta service problems and have a good track record in the transportation sector.

Considering, recently, Transjakarta buses often have accidents that result in fatalities.

"Sudirman Said does not have a track record in the transportation sector, how can he quickly solve the problem? How many more victims does Anies expect? We have conveyed this at Commission B from the start, but the Governor does not seem to pay attention to the safety of the residents of DKI," Gilbert said.

For information, Anies appointed Sudirman Said as Komut Transjakarta. Sudirman Said replaces Jaswandi who has served as Komut Transjakarta since August 2019.

Said's appointment as Komut Transjakarta was recently decided based on the results of the extraordinary general meeting of shareholders (RUPS LB) which was held at DKI Jakarta City Hall today.

Sudirman Said was Minister and Mineral Resources in the 2014-2016 Working Cabinet, the same period as Anies Baswedan when he served as Minister of Education and Culture, before both of them were reshuffled.

Then, Sudirman Said has also been the head of the Anies-Sandiaga synchronization team since the two of them started serving as Governor and Deputy Governor of DKI in 2017.
