JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission's (KPK) Employee Center chairperson, Yudi Purnomo, has finished his ethics trial. He was subject to light ethical sanctions for alleged ethical violations regarding the information on the withdrawal of KPK investigator, Rossa Purbo, from the police.

"Earlier, I heard the verdict against me. I got a light sanction with a written SP1," Yudi told reporters after attending the ethical judgment hearing, Wednesday, September 23.

He admitted that he accepted the verdict of the trial. The trial has been held since August 24, by presenting several witnesses. Such as KPK investigator, Novel Baswedan, and KPK Personnel Bureau Head, Chandra Reksoprodjo.

"I accepted it. That's the first. Second, it is important for us that the KPK's defense is successful. Mr. Rossa is still working at the KPK, which is the most important for us," he said.

Yudi was reported to the KPK Supervisory Board for alleged violations of disseminating false information, violations of the code of ethics and code of conduct for Integrity in Article 4 paragraph (1) letter o, KPK Supervisory Board Regulation Number 2 of 2020.

"We also thank Mr/Mrs. Supervisory Board for completing this case. So, we are more focused on other activities," he said.

Yudi was reluctant to explain further why does Kompol Rossa return to the Bhayangkara Corps. If it is discussed again, it will cause a long debate.

So, with the issuance of this decision, Yudi said that the issue of returning was resolved. Moreover, at this time, his colleague has returned to work as investigators.

"For the issue of sanctions, I think it is a risk that I have to accept and that I have to face," he said.

"But at least, the struggle to defend KPK employees from the process without procedures and employee protection, we can continue to advocate," he added.

After reading the verdict against Yudi, the KPK Supervisory Board will then read out the decision on the alleged violation of the code of ethics committed by the Chairman of the KPK, Firli Bahuri. He is suspected of violating the code of conduct after using a luxury helicopter while traveling to his hometown for personal purposes.

The reading of the verdict against Firli Bahuri is scheduled to be held on Thursday, September 24. Previously, this hearing would be live. But then, they decided that it will be closed.
