JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has highlighted the DKI regional budget (APBD) which is prone to budget leakage due to irregularities such as corruption.

In response to this, the Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria, sees that his subordinates always obey the rules for preparing the budget, and they are less likely to play projects in the budget that is prepared.

Riza said, the regional government budget team in DKI formulating the budget is carried out in stages starting from the development planning deliberation process (musrenbang) until it is submitted to the DPRD for approval.

"As far as I know, DKI Jakarta officials use the budget through the planning process, through the musrenbang. So the stages are completely passed, the process is going through. DKI officials don't dare to violate the rules," said Riza at DKI City Hall, Central Jakarta, Thursday, March 17.

However, Riza admits, with the value of DKI's APBD which is so large, namely Rp. 82.47 trillion in 2022, there will definitely be subordinates who will be tempted to deviate from it. Therefore, he asked the DKI Provincial Government employees to maintain their integrity.

"Of course DKI has a big budget. Officials have to be careful. Yes, I'm sorry, some regions with a small budget will be tempted. Especially with a big budget. Let's keep the existing budget in check," he said.

Previously, Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Alexander Marwata revealed that the potential for budget leakage was very high, considering the very large nominal value of the DKI Jakarta APBD.

He conveyed this during a technical guidance (bimtek) event entitled The DKI Jakarta Province Integrity Family, which was attended by DKI Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria and high-ranking officials of the DKI Provincial Government at City Hall, yesterday.

"The DKI Provincial Government is very rich, the APBD if I count it is the same as all provinces in Sumatra, (the DKI Regional Budget is equivalent to) the combined APBD of the Provincial Governments of Banten, West Java, Central Java, and the DKI Regional Budget with a smaller area scope. Potential The occurrence of leakage of course, with a large amount of APBD, it is also high," said Alexander.

In this regard, the process of procuring government goods and services is the most prone to corruption by DKI Provincial Government officials.

"In Jakarta, the budget for the procurement of goods and services is very high because the DKI Regional Budget alone is around Rp. 80 trillion. There are many activities that need attention for the DKI Provincial Government to carry out strict supervision regarding the procurement of goods and services," he said.
