Floods In Grobogan Regency Retreat

GROBOGAN - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Grobogan Regency, Central Java said that the flood which caused thousands of houses to be submerged in floodwaters has receded.

"The flood inundation has receded since the second day, namely Wednesday (16/3) and today (17/3) the flood inundation has receded so that no more houses are inundated with water," said the Head of Daily BPBD of Grobogan Regency, Endang Sulistyoningsih, quoted by Antara. , Thursday, March 17th.

Residents who previously evacuated due to flooding since Tuesday (15/3), at 07.00 WIB have returned to their homes because they are no longer inundated, including access roads can also be passed because the flood has receded.

Of the thousands of affected houses spread across eight villages, one house was slightly damaged due to water waves in Cingkrong Village, Purwodadi District.

Educational facilities that are still inundated, namely SD Negeri 4 Cingkrong with a height of 20 centimeters.

BPBD Grobogan noted that thousands of houses were previously inundated in eight villages in four sub-districts, including Penawangan, Purwodadi, Karangrayung, and Toroh with varying numbers of villages.

Floods in Penawawangan Sub-district spread to Pengkol, Karangpahing, and Winong villages as many as 159 houses were affected, while Purwodadi District was spread in Candisari and Cingkrong villages with the number of houses affected up to 1,770 houses as well as five schools and one Islamic boarding school.

In Karangrayung sub-district, there are 25 houses in Nampu and Karangsono villages, in Toroh sub-district it is spread in Katong village with inundation heights varying between 10-70 centimeters.

The local BPBD during the flood also evacuated residents and livestock to a safer place, then established a public kitchen in Cingkrong Village and distributed rice packs to a number of villages and refugee camps, while when the flood receded they also cleaned public facilities such as schools and access roads from flooded mud.
