JAKARTA - The Directorate General of Islamic Education at the Ministry of Religion has opened registration for the 2022 Student Achievement Scholarship Program (PBSB), which will take place from March 15 to April 15, 2022.
The Director of Diniyah Education and Islamic Boarding Schools at the Directorate General of Education at the Ministry of Religion Waryono Abdul Ghafur said his party had provided a quota of 600 scholarships for PBSB.
"PBSB 2022 has been opened. We invite students to register. There are 80 study programs to choose from at 26 universities," Waryono said in a written statement received in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, March 16.
Waryono explained that PBSB is an affirmation program from the state that is specifically for students to get wider opportunities to continue their undergraduate and master's studies.
PBSB is implemented in the form of providing full scholarships for students who have academic ability, personal maturity, reasoning ability and potential to be able to participate in higher education programs.
There are three types of scholarships, namely full scholarships for undergraduate programs for a maximum of 48 months, full scholarships for professional education for a maximum of 24 months, and full scholarships for masters programs for a maximum of 24 months.
"To maintain the process of governance and implementation management, the selection is carried out in an open and accountable manner so that all students can have the same opportunity to be selected to be the best," said Waryono.
Meanwhile, the Head of Sub-Directorate for Islamic Boarding Schools, Basnang Said, said that the PBSB selection was carried out through an open and electronic-based system.
Therefore, he reminded pesantren to understand the online PBSB registration mechanism, including the choice of study programs, partner universities, and the campus domicile of interest and will be selected.
Islamic boarding schools must register on the PBSB online registration link, by ensuring the Pesantren Statistics Number (NSP) listed is registered with the Ministry of Religion. The Islamic boarding school then registers its students by selecting the name of the student in the system based on the updated student data on the EMIS of the Directorate General of Islamic Education.
"Many of our students have contested PBSB. Therefore, we hope that students who will be declared graduated will not resign, because the consequence is that the original pesantren will no longer be allowed to register for PBSB next year," he said.
