Ahead Of The Mandalika MotoGP, Padangbai Bali Passengers Increase To 1,500 People Per Day

KANGASEM - Ahead of the MotoGP race at the Mandalika Circuit, NTB, the number of passengers from Padangbai Harbor, Karangasem Regency, Bali, to Lembar Harbor increased.

The Head of the Padangbai Port Sector Police, Kompol Made Suadnyana, said that the increase in passengers in Padangbai had occurred five days ago.

"There has been an increase of around 30 percent from five days ago," said Kompol Suadnyana, when contacted, Wednesday, March 16.

Most of the passengers who cross use four-wheeled vehicles. It is recorded that 1,500 people cross per day.

"Most of them are four-wheeled vehicles. From people around 1,500 people per day. If the vehicles are around 1,000 and 500 four-wheeled and two-wheeled vehicles are combined," added Suadnyana.

Compared to a normal day, there were around 200-300 vehicles crossing from Padangbai.

"On a normal day there are at least 200 and 300 vehicles," he said.

Peak currents are predicted to occur on Friday, March 18th. Vehicles are estimated to reach 2,000 units.

For security, personnel from the Karangasem Police and the Bali Police were alerted. Passengers who have received the second dose of vaccine only need to show their vaccine card without including the PCR/Antigen results.

Meanwhile ASDP Padangbai has prepared 28 ships for crossings that depart per hour.

"There are 28 ships operating and that is enough. This means that the community is safe and there are no queues from ASDP. We have anticipated. Yesterday, every two hours, the ship departs every hour, now the ship is once an hour and people no longer need to worry about ship delays because they are served every hour," he said.
