Denies Collaboration With Indra Kenz, KPK: We Accommodate And Give People Opportunities To Play A Role In Fighting Corruption

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) asserts that it has never collaborated with a suspect in a fraud case under the guise of binary options trading, Indra Kenz to make a message on how to report corruption.

This rebuttal was conveyed by Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Sector Ali Fikri after the video clip of Indra Kenz's song, 'See-Fight-Report' circulated on social media and became the spotlight.

"Regarding the suspect IK who had a case in the Criminal Investigation Unit, where there were quite a number of YouTubers making anti-corruption songs. We convey that this is not a collaboration between the KPK and the person concerned," Ali told reporters, Tuesday, March 15.

"Indeed, we accommodate, provide opportunities, and invite every element of society according to their abilities and roles to participate in efforts to eradicate corruption by involving themselves through education, prevention and prosecution efforts," he added.

Ali emphasized that there were no costs incurred by the KPK in the process of making the video. However, the anti-corruption commission decided to disseminate it because it fits the anti-corruption message.

"There is no funding from the Corruption Eradication Commission related to this because the KPK receives it through the Directorate of Community Participation," he said.

Ali also emphasized that the KPK leaders and other officials at the institution had contact with Indra Kenz.

"I don't even know (with Indra Kenz, ed). So, we hope that there are no opinions that take this issue further," he said.

Previously, the video clip entitled 'See-Fight-Report' which lasted 38 seconds and contained a campaign to report alleged corruption to the KPK was circulated on social media. The video was uploaded by the Indonesian KPK's YouTube before being made private so that it can no longer be accessed.

In addition to the RI KPK YouTube account, the collaboration was also uploaded to Indra Kenz's YouTube channel, Indra Kesuma with the title 'PROFIT FROM TRADING, NOT FROM CORRUPTION! INDRAKENZ ANTI-CORRUPTION!!'.

In the 17.54 minute video, Indra Kenz appears to open a box containing a white shirt which was later used in the video clip 'See-Fight-Report'.

"So as a society, if we see an alleged act of corruption, we see bribery, we can report it," said Indra Kenz in the video viewed Tuesday, March 15.

"Why did we get this shirt, so coincidentally, his father's friend was close enough years ago he was a general and finally transferred to the KPK, so he knew I could sing he finally told me to make a song. Make a KPK song. I could make a song but I can't as cool as Indomusicgram," he added.
