Police Arrest Widow In North Sumatra For Being The Master Of Robbery With Motorcycle Crash Mode

MEDAN - A widow named Lenny (39) in Serdang Bedagai (Sergai) Regency, North Sumatra was arrested by the police.

This widow and a construction worker named Aweng (36) carried out a robbery by crashing a motorbike with a car.

Sergai Police Chief, AKBP Ali Machfud said the arrest of the two was based on the report of the victim, Wulandari (21). At that time, the victim was about to go home from work.

"Arriving at the Sei Rampah Post office, the victim was followed by a Toyota Avanza," said AKBP Ali, Monday, March 14.

When the victim was on Jalan Desa Sarirejo, Serdang Bedagai, the car the suspect was traveling in tried to graze the victim. The victim dodged and fell into a ditch.

"Then two suspects got down and approached the victim. Then they took the victim's motorbike," he explained.

The victim then reported the incident to the police. Upon receiving the report, the police immediately launched an investigation.

"Then on Thursday, March 3, the police received information that this activity was in the brains of the perpetrator Leni. The perpetrator apparently invited two more suspects, namely Aweng and Aderai, who are still at large," he continued.

AKBP Ali said that when he was arrested, Leni was renting a contract in the City of Tebing Tinggi. The police then went to his house and it turned out that Leny had moved to Perbaungan District, Sergai, and then carried out raids.

"Leni was hiding in her house at the time," he explained.

When questioned, Leni confessed to her actions, then the police chased the perpetrator Aweng and managed to arrest him at one of the internet cafes in Jambur Pulau Village, Sergai. The police then hunted down the perpetrator Aderai, who is still at large.

"The mode of the robbers deliberately crashed the victim's motorbike and the victim fell and the robbers took the motorbike," he explained.

For his actions, the suspect is currently being held at the Serdang Bedagai Police Headquarters to account for his actions.

"The suspect is charged with Article 365 paragraphs (1) and (2) of the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of 9-12 years in prison," he said.
