JAKARTA - One of three victims of an explosion accompanied by a fire in a traditionally managed oil well in East Aceh Regency, Aceh Province has died after being evacuated to a hospital.

"Three victims suffered burns. All three were referred to a hospital in Banda Aceh, but on the way one of them died," said the Director of the Sultan Abdul Azis Hospital Syah Peureulak Reza Fazri in East Aceh, Saturday, March 12.

He said the victim died in the name of Safrizal (29). The victims were recorded as residents of Blang Barom, Ranto Peureulak District, East Aceh Regency.

"Based on medical information, the victim suffered burns to the face, wounds to the right hand, left hand, chest, back, right calf, left calf, left thigh and burns to the abdomen," he said, as quoted by ANTARA.

Meanwhile, other victims are critically ill, namely Baihaqi (36), a resident of East Tualang Village, East Idi District, East Aceh Regency. The victim suffered burns to his face, left hand, right hand, back, chest, left and right legs.

Then, Junaidi (37), a resident of Blang Barom Village, Ranto Peureulak District, East Aceh Regency. The victim suffered injuries to his face, right hand, left hand back, chest, right leg and left leg.

“The two victims were referred to the Zainoel Abidin Hospital in Banda Aceh. Previously, they had been treated at the Sultan Abdul Azis Syah Peureulak Hospital. The condition of the victim's burns is about 90 percent," said Reza Fazri.
