Erick Thohir Asks Ahok To Focus On Internal Pertamina Problems

JAKARTA - Special Staff to the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Arya Sinulingga said that BUMN Minister Erick Thohir asked Pertamina Main Commissioner Basuki Tjahja Purnama or who is usually called Ahok to focus on fixing internal problems in the state-owned company.

Arya said this was conveyed by Erick when he had a meeting with Ahok some time ago after the former Governor of DKI Jakarta teased Pertamina regarding a number of things such as the acquisition of oil wells abroad from debt and his findings regarding the inefficiency of Pertamana regarding the construction of an oil refinery.

"Mr Erick reminded him that Mr. Ahok, did he commit, as a commut he had internal authority, right at Pertamina. Erick, said Arya, reminded Ahok to have a number of powers in his position as chief commissioner, such as summoning the entire board of directors to holding meetings to make internal improvements.

Furthermore, he also said that Erick was not angry with Ahok for conveying the problems Pertamina was facing to the public, especially since the content that Ahok conveyed through a YouTube account was quite good. It's just that, at that time Erick asked Ahok to be more serious about solving this problem from within or internally.

"So Mr. Erick asked for that from Mr. Ahok. Carrying out a transformation at Pertamina and supporting the ministry conceptualized, how and how the transformation of Pertamina in the future. That Mr. Erick asked Mr. Ahok to carry out his duties," he said.

In addition to asking for a resolution to internal problems, Arya said at the meeting, Erick also asked Ahok to continue to maintain team cohesiveness within Pertamina. This is important to do and must be done because he has the position of a chief commissioner in the company.

"Mr. Erick asked Mr. Ahok to maintain the strength of the team inside. As a leader, we have to maintain team cohesiveness. If it is not compact, it is difficult to work too," he said.
