Bambang Susantono Admits It Takes Time To Study Documents To Build IKN Authority

JAKARTA - Head of the National Capital Authority (IKN) Nusantara Bambang Susanto admitted that it took time to study the documents to build a team that is responsible for the development of the city.

He conveyed this after being sworn in as Head of the IKN Nusantara Authority on Thursday, March 10 at the State Palace, Jakarta.

"Of course it takes time to study the documents and at the same time we have to build institutions," said Bambang as quoted from the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube.

Bambang feels that this step is necessary considering that he was only contacted two weeks ago to occupy this important position. "I myself was contacted about two weeks ago," he said.

Even so, he has received a number of directions from President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) who wants IKN Nusantara to become a model city not only for Indonesia but also for the world.

"It was entrusted by the President of the city to build a new civilization. He wants this city to be a model not only for Indonesia but also for it's global city," he said.

"The President hopes that this city will become a city that reflects Indonesia in the future, where all challenges and reflections will be summarized in this city. How is this city managed, for example," added Bambang.

Meanwhile, to build an authority body, Bambang said he would look for those who have the ability. So, in the future the IKN Authority Agency can run in carrying out its duties.

"Currently (the agency, ed) there are only the two of us (along with the Deputy Head of the Authority, Dhony Rahajoe, ed) so we have to build capable ones so that later we can run to build Nusantara City, of course together with all stakeholders," he said.

Previously reported, President Jokowi appointed Bambang Susantono and Dhony Rahajoe as Heads and Deputy Heads of the National Capital Authority (IKN) Nusantara.

The procession of the inauguration of the two began with the reading of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 9M of 2022 concerning the Appointment of the Head and Deputy Head of the Archipelago Capital Authority.

Next, the event continued with taking the oath of office. Bambang and Dhony imitated Jokowi's words when the procession was accompanied by clergy.

"By Allah, I swear that I will fulfill my obligations as Head and Deputy Head of the Archipelago Capital Authority in the best possible way and fairly, uphold the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, and carry out all laws and regulations in a straight and devoted manner. to the community, homeland and nation," said Bambang-Dhony's oath of office.

For information, Bambang is a former Deputy of Transportation in the United Indonesia Cabinet II for the 2010-2014 period. Not only that, he has also served as Deputy Coordinating Minister for the Economy.

In addition, Bambang is also known as an expert in infrastructure and transportation planning. Meanwhile, Dhony Rahajoe is a senior official at Sinar Mas Land. He serves as Managing Director of the President Office of Sinar Mas Land.
