He gave a signal that the inauguration of the Head of the IKN Authority would be held this week. The name of former Wamenhub Bambang Susantono was mentioned as the strongest candidate for the position. Another name that is also widely known to be the Head of IKN is Bambang Brodjonegoro. Commission II member of the DPR from the PAN faction, Guspardi Gaus, said that the appointment of the Head of the IKN Authority is the prerogative of the President. It's just that, according to him, a Head of the IKN Authority must be professional, independent, with capacity, and with integrity. "If indeed Pak Bambang is a person with the criteria that I conveyed, of course we appreciate it. And Pak Bambang must be prepared to carry out his duties and responsibilities to being the Head of the Authority whose task is very heavy," said Guspardi Gaus to reporters, Wednesday, March 9.

The member of the Special Committee for the IKN Bill reminded that whoever the President appoints as the head of the authority, he must be prepared with various possibilities. Especially ahead of the 2024 political year.

"This position must be selectively given to anyone, including Pak Bambang. He must be prepared for all possibilities, especially in the conditions facing the 2024 General Election and the budget is quite large, of course there will be a lot of pressure on him," he said. "So whoever is appointed by Jokowi must be professional, independent, have the capacity, capability and integrity," continued Guspardi. Guspardi also hopes that the head of the authority comes from a professional circle and is not affiliated with a political party. Because he said, the task of the head of the authority is quite heavy and is in the public's spotlight.

"Because this is a dilemma, he is given a responsibility with a huge budget. The first stage is only IDR 466 trillion, the long term is more than IDR 1,000 trillion. Moreover, the public spotlight on IKN is also debatable," he explained.

The PAN politician also asked President Jokowi to immediately announce the Head of the IKN Authority to the public. Because he said, the president had long pocketed the name of the candidate for the Head of the IKN Authority. "I know from various sources, the President already has a name in his pocket and an inauguration will take place. Indeed, people are wondering why Mr. Jokowi's announcement and inauguration were delayed," he said.

"So as not to cause dynamics, speculation, and calm the atmosphere, it is better for the President to immediately announce to the public who will be appointed as Head of the Authority," he added.
