TANGERANG – The rampant brawls that occurred in Tangerang made the Tangerang Metro Police plan to deploy a company to provide security in the area.

Tangerang Metro Police Chief Kombes Komarudin said he would divide his members into two teams, day and night. This was done to anticipate the rise of crime and brawls between students and to limit the space for criminals to move.

"So our area is one of the areas that is quite vulnerable to events that are quite disturbing, including brawls between students," said Komarudin to reporters in Karang Tengah, Tangerang City, Tuesday, March 8.

"We are doing pre-emptive and preventive efforts. We fielded 1 company which was divided into 2 teams, day and night team. We do this to limit the space for movement,” he added.

In addition, his party will also cooperate with local governments, especially the education office. In order to find out the basic cause, the students carried out the brawl.

“We are coordinating with the local government in this case the education office. We see from the root of the problem what it really is. From there, we try to do the mapping, including the potential points," he explained.

Komarudin also emphasized that his party did not judge from how many were secured as a result of the brawl. However, the main goal is to reduce the crime rate from these brawls.

"Our benchmark is not how many we catch. But, how much do we do to prevent the occurrence of such disturbances in the security and order," he said.

Previously reported, the Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Fadil Imran highlighted the rise of crimes in his jurisdiction. Especially, in the supporting areas of the capital city.

"Yesterday, I read that there was news in Depok that an injured resident was attacked by gangsters, then in the Bekasi area there was a robbery, a brawl occurred," said Inspector General Fadil on the Instagram account @kapoldametrojaya quoted by VOI, Tuesday, March 8.

In fact, Fadil stated that he would visit locations prone to crime. This is done to evaluate performance and find solutions to suppress these crimes.

"I will come to the vulnerable locations according to the time of the incident. I will evaluate together, we will arrange interventions that can make the community safe and comfortable," said Fadil.

"Take note, the police chiefs, I will come to these vulnerable locations. I ask the Director of Criminal and Criminal Investigation to properly prepare the action plan to identify cases that disturb the community, especially in the Bekasi, Depok, Tangerang areas.
