Visit The Attorney General, Deputy Minister Of SOEs To Discuss Rescue Of Garuda Indonesia

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) II Kartika Wirjoatmodjo visited Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin, Monday, March 7. The two discussed about the government-owned airline.

The Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapus Penkum) of the Attorney General's Office, Ketut Sumedana, said that during the meeting, the Deputy Minister of SOEs expressed his support for the law enforcement process carried out by the Attorney General's Office in the context of saving assets related to allegations of corruption in the procurement of aircraft at PT Garuda Indonesia. "The Deputy Minister of BUMN II also said that currently PT Garuda Indonesia is experiencing liquidity and solvency and therefore it is necessary to immediately rescue Garuda," said Ketut.

Ketut said that the meeting was also a follow-up to an internal meeting attended by President Joko Widodo, Cabinet Secretary Minister Pramono Anung, SOE Minister Erick Thohir, Attorney General and Deputy Minister of SOE II, on Friday 11 February.

In today's meeting, continued Ketut, Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin expressed his appreciation for the trust of the Ministry of SOEs through PT Garuda Indonesia in the Civil and State Administration (Datun) Division of the Attorney General's Office.

"The Attorney General revealed that the Attorney General's Office through Jamdatun supports the process carried out by PT Garuda Indonesia in order to save liquidity and solvency through the restructuring process so that BUMN assets can operate in a transparent and professional manner," said Ketut conveying the direction of the Attorney General.

Also attending the meeting were Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah, Assistant General Attorney General Kuntadi and Special Assistant Attorney General Hendro. The meeting was also attended by the President Director of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. Irfan Setiaputra and Finance Director of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. Prasetio.

Regarding the investigation into the alleged corruption case of PT Garuda Indonesia, the Investigation Team of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) has obtained an Assignment Letter to calculate state losses in the case.

Until now, the BPKP Investigation Team and the Jampidsus Investigating Prosecutors Team have collaborated in determining the real state losses.

Previously, the Jampidsus Investigating Prosecutors Team had examined witnesses and collected documents to support the process of calculating state financial losses in this case.

The Attorney General's Office has also named two suspects in this case, namely SA or Setijo Awibowo who was the Vice President (VP) Strategic Management Office of PT Garuda Indonesia in 2011-2012 and AW or Agus Wahjudo who had held the position of Executive Project Manager of Aircraft Delivery at PT. Garuda Indonesia in 2009-2014. Agus is also a member of the CRJ 1000 aircraft procurement team and a member of the ATR 72-600 aircraft procurement team.
