COVID-19 Update As Of March 6th: New Cases 21,380, Active Cases 448,273

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 374,639 specimens were examined with the results of 21,380 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulated positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 5,770,105 people and active cases have fallen by 27,678 to 448,283 cases," said Ministry of Health data, Monday, March 6.

Today's recovered cases increased by 48,800 cases, bringing the total to 5,171,402 people recovered. Then, there were 258 positive confirmed cases and a total of 150,430 people.

The province with the highest new cases was in West Java with 4,368 cases and a total of 1,045,880 cases. Followed by Central Java with 4,154 new cases with a total of 597,505 cases. DKI Jakarta has 2,693 new cases and a total of 1,200,486 cases. Then, East Java with 1,410 new cases and a total of 554,939 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to West Java with an additional 20,905 recovered cases. Followed by Central Java with an increase of 4,192 recovered cases, DKI Jakarta with an additional 4,056 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 3,645 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 87,481,657.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 15.47 percent," he wrote. The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases is 17,272 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

So far, 192,068,763 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 148,021,351 people have received the second dose of vaccination. While the third dose of vaccination was 12,487,116. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
