Russian Defense Ministry Accuses Ukrainian Military Will Blow Up Experimental Nuclear Reactor At Kharkov Institute

JAKARTA - The Ukrainian Security Forces and the Azov nationalist battalion plan to blow up the reactor at the National Research Center of the Kharkov Institute of Physics and Technology, then accuse the Russian Armed Forces of launching projectiles at an experimental nuclear reactor, the Russian Defense Ministry said Monday.

"Ukrainian Security Forces together with militants from the Azov battalion are planning provocations with possible radioactive contamination in the area near the city of Kharkov. Nationalists are mining reactors in an experimental nuclear system located at the (National Research Center) Kharkov Institute of Physics and Technology," the ministry said in a statement. , launched TASS March 7th.

As previously reported, Russia has succeeded in seizing a strategic nuclear power plant belonging to Ukraine. At the start of the invasion which began on February 24, Russia managed to occupy the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

Most recently, Russia also succeeded in occupying Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, placing its staff who run the facility under their command and restricting communications with the outside world.
