JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno has encouraged Cisaat Village, Subang, West Java, to be included in the Tourism Village Network (Jadesta) through participation in the 2022 Indonesian Tourism Village Award (ADWI) event.

Sandiaga said, Cisaat Village has the potential to attract natural, cultural, and creative economic products.

"We support Cisaat Village to become a tourist village that is included in Jadesta along with 100 other tourist villages, God willing Subang Regency will become JAWARA (Jaya, Special, and Champion). ADWI 2022 is still open for registration until March 31, 2022," said Sandiaga when visiting the village as stated in a press statement received in Jakarta, Sunday 6 March.

In that village, there is a Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) which is said to have taken on a role to build the potential of the village so as to generate the economy, create the widest possible employment opportunities, and make the community more prosperous.

Menparekraf admitted, his party is preparing the community to take the opportunity to develop the potential of Cisaat Village which is expected to increase the income of local residents.

"The potential of Cisaat Village that can be developed is the potential of pineapple fruit, educational tours of dairy cows, and a program that has elements of new and renewable energy sustainability, namely charcoal products from mahogany wood that have been exported," he said.

In 2016, Cisaat Village was designated by the Subang Regent as a tourist village which had been visited by 1,254 tourists, and in 2019 it increased to 1,850 tourists.

"Subang is a destination that is not too far from Jakarta and offers attractive potential for tourists. What can be excelled is educational tourism because unlike others, I hope this will become a best practice for other tourist villages," said Sandiaga.
