COVID-19 BOR Still Reasonable, Madiun Hasn't Pressed Mobility Despite PPKM Level 4

MADIUN - The City of Madiun has imposed Level 4 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) in line with the issuance of the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs (Inmendagri) Number 13/2022 which is valid from March 1-7. However, the Madiun City Government, East Java has not made any efforts to suppress mobility even more stringently.

"Meanwhile, for community activities in an effort to recover the economy, let's go first," said Madiun Mayor Maidi in Madiun, Saturday, March 5, quoted from Antara.

Mayor Maidi explained that the consideration that there had not been a super tight restriction on community activities was that the bed occupancy rate (BOR) or the occupancy rate of the isolation hospital for COVID-19 patients was still relatively reasonable. According to the data, he said, currently the BOR in Madiun City is recorded at 30 percent.

Although there are no super tight restrictions, he said, residents of Madiun City are still asked to be disciplined in implementing health protocols (prokes).

"We will continue to suppress crowd and crowd activities according to the Minister of Home Affairs Number 13/2022. However, the community's economy should not stagnate," he said.

If, later, the BOR reaches 90 percent or the COVID-19 transmission condition has an emergency status like during the second wave of the Delta variant of the COVID-19 attack last year, super tight restrictions are needed. However, he hoped that would not happen.

Therefore, his party and staff continue to monitor the BOR of the hospital and the development of active COVID-19 cases in Madiun City. Health, Women Empowerment, and Family Planning (Dinkes-PPKB) officials also continue to monitor the spread of COVID-19 to find patterns in the development of the virus. Testing, tracing, and treatment (3T) also continue to be intensified.

"In addition, we also continue to ask the residents of Madiun City to always be disciplined in every activity so that the transmission of COVID-19 in Madiun can be controlled," he said.

He added that the joint COVID-19 Task Force officers from the Madiun City Government along with the TNI and Polri were also aggressively carrying out justice operations and spraying disinfectants on a regular basis.

According to data, in Madiun City, the number of COVID-19 cases until Friday (4/3) reached 9,477 people. Of that number, 8,452 people have recovered, 76 people are still being treated, 413 people are self-isolating, 3 people are in integrated isolation, and 533 people have died.

The number of new confirmations on Friday recorded 103 people, 131 people recovered, and three people died, while the number of tracking today is 971 people.
