KPK Chairman: Types And Modes Of Corruption Always Grow

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri said the formula to prevent corrupt practices in the country was continuously being formulated. This step was taken because the types and modes of corruption carried out by the perpetrators continued to grow.

"Corruption always develops in its mode, type, form, and appearance. But in stages, we can divide corruption into three. First, pre-modern corruption, second is modern corruption, and the third is post-modern corruption," Firli said at the time. was the keynote speaker at the Kick Off G20 Anti-Corruption Working Group which was broadcast on the KPK RI YouTube channel, Friday, March 4.

For this reason, the KPK then made a roadmap for eradicating corruption until 2045. Firli said this mapping was important in order to realize Indonesia's desire to be free from corruption and become the biggest economic power.

However, this desire can only be realized when corrupt practices in the country can be eliminated. "Currently, the KPK has compiled a roadmap for eradicating corruption from 2020 to 2045," he said.

"The number 2045 or the year 2045 is important for us because we want Indonesia to become the largest economic power in the world. We can achieve this greatest economic power if we are able to overcome national problems, including the problem of corruption," added the former Deputy for Enforcement of the Corruption Eradication Commission.

The roadmap or roadmap, said Firli, has been compiled in the National Strategy (Stranas) for the Eradication of Corruption (PK), which includes a number of missions, including conducting anti-corruption education, improving the system, and taking appropriate action against corruption perpetrators.

"In the field of prosecution, of course, we hope for professional supervision in the crime of money laundering (TPPU)," he said.

"And last but not least, we understand that the world is currently facing a crisis of natural resources, energy and minerals. Therefore, the KPK offers to handle and carry out eradication and prevention of corruption in the new and renewable energy sector," he concluded.
