BANTEN - The Banten Police have not implemented the requirements for making/extending a Driving License (SIM) using the Social Security Administering Body (BPJS) for Health. The reason is that they are still waiting for implementation instructions (juklak) and technical instructions (juknis) from the National Police Traffic Corps.

"Based on information from Traffic Directorate of Regional Police, the implementation is still waiting for the operational and technical guidelines from the Traffic Corps of the National Police," said Head of Public Relations of the Banten Police, Grand Commissioner Shinto Silitonga, when confirmed, Wednesday, March 2.

Nevertheless, Shinto ensured that his party would implement the policy. Because the regulations related to the rules have been accepted.

"Just waiting for further directions from the Traffic Corps of the National Police. We will definitely do it," he said.

Previously reported, the Government of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) began to require BPJS Health participant cards as a condition for obtaining public services.

In addition to requiring BPJS Health as one of the conditions for buying and selling land, the government also requires BPJS Health participation as a condition for Umrah registration to apply for a driving license (SIM).

Presidential Instruction (Inpres) 1/2022 on Optimizing the Implementation of the National Health Insurance Program instructs the National Police Chief to refine regulations to ensure that applicants for SIM, STNK, and SKCK are active participants of the JKN program.

Meanwhile, the National Police of the Republic of Indonesia (Polri) will complete the regulation to make BPJS Health a requirement for managing motorized vehicles. The regulation is contained in Perpol Number 7 of 2021 concerning Resident Ranmor.

The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, wants to pursue the target of 98 percent of Indonesian citizens getting universal health insurance by 2024 through Presidential Instruction (Inpres) No. 1 of 2022.
