PDIP Admits The Concept Of Anies Infiltration Well Used At IKN Is Good, But The Problem In Jakarta Is Not Worked Well

JAKARTA - The chairman of Commission D of the DKI DPRD from the PDIP faction, Ida Mahcepat views that the concept of flood control by constructing infiltration wells is indeed a good program.

This concept has been used by DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan since the beginning to be implemented in Jakarta. Then, the central government will also use the concept of infiltration wells in the national capital (IKN) of the archipelago.

But unfortunately, said Ida, the implementation of the concept of constructing infiltration wells since 2017 until now has not been mature. It is proven that Anies and his staff did not execute the absorption well in Jakarta properly. Thus, the benefits are not visible in tackling flooding.

"If the principle of the program is good, we will support it. Well, if I saw what I saw yesterday, the planning carried out in DKI is not mature enough. As long as (infiltration wells) are useful, we agree, but yesterday's work was not good," said Ida when met at the DKI DPRD building, Tuesday, March 1.

Ida stated that infiltration wells were not properly managed, as evidenced by the many complaints that came from the community. The DPRD received a number of reports that there were infiltration wells that had burst, construction was careless, and even caused inundation.

"There are complaints that the builder is not suitable. For example, the road was flat, after an infiltration well was built, the closure was uneven and eventually people fell," explained Ida.

"Then when it rains, it turns out that the infiltration well cannot maximally enter into its absorption, but instead the water passes side by side for him to walk, then does not enter there (absorb). Now, this is what needs to be evaluated," he continued. .

That's why, continued Ida, in 2022, the DPRD will not allow the submission of a budget for the construction of infiltration wells in the APBD. The proposed infiltration well budget was finally nullified.

"We both know the condition of the community seeing the infiltration well. Why was it stopped yesterday in 2022, we didn't approve the budget? That's just an evaluation first," said Ida.

For information, the Region (IKN) will implement a sponge city that can store rainwater so as to reduce flooding.

This refers to a city that acts like a sponge which is able to hold rainwater from flowing directly into drainage channels and which is able to increase infiltration into the soil so that the danger of flooding can be reduced and the quality and quantity of water can be increased through soil filtration and underground storage.
