JAKARTA - Efforts to tackle the COVID-19 case cannot be done only by the region itself. There needs to be synergy between regions, especially those that border each other.

Spokesperson for the Task Force (Task Force) Handling COVID-19 Wiku Adisasmito asked local governments in the area around DKI Jakarta from Bogor to Bekasi to limit the mobility of their citizens. Moreover, currently Jakarta is tightening back on Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB).

"We want to convey the need for synergy between regions, especially those that are adjacent. In this case, an example that we need to pay attention to is the buffer areas around DKI Jakarta, namely Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi, both city and regency," said Wiku at the conference. press online broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat YouTube account, Tuesday, September 15.

According to Wiku, residents in these buffer areas have high mobility to enter and leave the DKI Jakarta area. So, there needs to be efforts to limit the government in the region so that efforts to reduce the transmission of this virus can be implemented.

In addition, Wiku also emphasized that coordination between central and regional governments can be carried out regularly. This is necessary, so that the central government knows the difficulties experienced by local governments and can mobilize assistance in the form of policies and regulations to facilitate handling of COVID-19.

DKI Jakarta has again tightened Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) in its territory. This tightening was carried out for two weeks, starting last Monday, September 14.

The reason for DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan to re-implement the PSBB is stricter than the transitional PSBB is because there are three numerical parameters and it shows that the current condition of the COVID-19 outbreak in DKI is becoming alarming.

"From three data, namely the mortality rate, use of isolation beds, use of the special ICU for COVID-19, it shows that the plague situation in Jakarta is in an emergency," said Anies at the City Hall of DKI, Central Jakarta, Monday, September 9.

Regarding the death rate, Anies said the figure in DKI was indeed low, namely 2.7 percent. It is lower than the national death rate of 4.1 percent, even lower than the global death rate of 3.3 percent.

Although the percentage of the death rate or case fatality rate in Jakarta is still below the national and world averages, in absolute terms the number continues to increase.

Second, about the use of COVID-19 treatment beds. Concerns about the depletion of bed capacity are based on the continuing high number of active COVID-19 cases.

Third, the use of an ICU bed for COVID-19 patients with severe symptoms. According to him, if the number is not added, the ICU bed will no longer be able to accommodate patients on September 15. When the capacity has been increased but no "emergency brake" is applied, it will return to full capacity on 25 September.

"In short, we will increase capacity. But, if there are no strict restrictions, then this is just buying time. In less than a month, the hospital will be full again," explained Anies.
