COVID-19 Update As Of February 27: New Cases 34,976, Cure 39,384

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. The cumulative total of cases stands at 5,539,394 since the first cases were announced on March 2. Meanwhile, new cases per day reached 34,976 people.

Meanwhile, the number of recovered cases today increased by 39,384 people, bringing the total to 4,817,423 recoveries. Meanwhile, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 229 people and a total of 148,076 people.

The province with the most new cases was in West Java with 6,458 new cases and a total of 999,998 cases. Consists of 6,434 local transmissions and 24 foreign travel agents (PPLN).

Followed by Central Java with 4,540 new cases and a total of 573,627 cases. For local transmission as many as 4,540, and 0 PPLN.

Then, DKI Jakarta has 3,957 new cases and a total of 1,167,539 cases. Consists of 3,442 local transmissions and 515 PPLN.

Next is East Java with 3,861 new cases. Consists of 3,851 and 10 PPLN local transmissions.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 9,227 cases. Then, followed by East Java with 6,238 cases recovered. Then, West Java with 5,485 cases recovered, Banten 4,273 and Central Java 2,075 cases recovered.

"The highest death cases are in East Java with 52 people. Followed by Central Java 37, DKI Jakarta 22, West Java 15, DI Yogyakarta 13 and Bali 10," as quoted from Ministry of Health data, Sunday, February 27.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined per day is 370,612. Meanwhile, cumulatively it reached 84,304,512. As for the details, 37,159,903 were examined by RT-PCR, 269,935 by the TMC method and 46,874,674 people were tested for antigen.

"The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, is recorded at 18,673 people," he said.

Then, the weekly positivity rate for people from February 20 to 26, 2022 is 17.75 percent. While the daily positivity rate is 17.96 percent.

Currently, 269 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and the total has reached 190,672,557, and 3,932 people have received the second dose of vaccination, the cumulative total is 143,778,623 people. Then the third dose of vaccination was increased by 294 and the total reached 9,809,784 Meanwhile, the target for vaccination was 208,265,720 people.
