33 Youths And A Number Of Sajams Arrested By Police When They Were About To Brawl In East Jakarta

JAKARTA - The Precision Pioneer Patrol Team (TPPP) of the East Jakarta Metro Police arrested 33 youths equipped with sharp weapons when they were about to fight in several locations in the East Jakarta area.

In addition to arresting the perpetrators, the police also confiscated 9 various types of sharp weapons that would be used for the brawl.

The Head of Samapta at the East Jakarta Metro Police, Kompol Ghulam Nabhi, said the perpetrators were arrested from the results of patrols in anticipation of citizen brawls and illegal racing in the East Jakarta area.

From the results of the patrol, TPPP officers from the East Jakarta Metro Police arrested 10 youths with evidence of one sharp weapon, a sickle in the Kampung Melayu area, East Jakarta.

"(Later, ed) 12 people with evidence of four sharp weapons of the type of sickle were secured from the Kampung Tengah area," he told reporters, Sunday, February 27.

Furthermore, TPPP members again arrested two perpetrators with evidence of 1 sharp weapon type sickle in the Pasar Rebo area. The search was carried out again in the Matraman area, East Jakarta. In this area, TPPP members found 4 people carrying sharp weapons of the type celurit.

"Three other people were arrested on Jalan Ayani, Jatinegara and two more people were arrested from the Gang Mayong area, East Jakarta," he said.

From the results of the arrests of the perpetrators of street crimes, members of the East Jakarta Metro Police TPPP arrested 33 people who were involved in the brawl with 9 sharp weapons. The perpetrators were taken to the East Jakarta Police Headquarters for further processing.
