Karawang Police Inspect 5 Witnesses And Process Islamic Boarding School Fire Scene

KARAWANG - The Karawang District Police examined five witnesses and processed the crime scene (TKP) in the process of investigating the Miftahul Khoirot Islamic Boarding School fire in Krajan Village, Manggungjaya Village, Cilamaya Kulon District, Karawang.

"We are continuing to carry out investigations. We are also coordinating with the National Police Laboratory for further investigation of the crime scene," said Karawang Police Chief AKBP Aldi Subartono, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, February 22.

The exact cause of the fire has yet to be ascertained, as it is still in the process of being investigated.

During the investigation, the police have examined five witnesses related to the boarding school fire incident. The five witnesses who were examined were students and administrators of the Islamic boarding school.

Earlier on Monday, February 21, the Miftahul Khoirot Islamic Boarding School building in Karawang was hit by a fire.

According to information from the police, the fire started as a result of sparks from the fan, which then fell onto the mattress, and finally there was a big fire in the pesantren.

Eight students who were on the second floor of the Islamic boarding school were caught in a fire and eventually died.
