Police Investigate Motives For Beating KNPI Chairman, Including Allegations Related To Congress

JAKARTA - The police are still investigating the motive behind the beating of the General Chairperson of the Indonesian Youth National Committee (KNPI), Haris Pertama. Including allegations related to the KNPI congress.

"Earlier, there was a question about what this had to do with the KNPI congress yesterday and others. Honestly, at this meeting it still needs further investigation because of the initial fact that the Chairman of the KNPI DPP Haris Pertama was beaten or beaten by four people," said the Director of General Crime Investigation at the Polda Metro Jaya. Kombes Tubagus Ade Hidayat told reporters, Tuesday, February 22.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects did not know each other. The perpetrator was only ordered by the suspect SS.

"Basically, why is there a backward motivation because honestly, the suspects do not know each other," said Tubagus

In addition, Tubagus also mentioned that the perpetrators and Haris did not know each other. They didn't even have any problems.

"There have been no problems so far from the suspects to the victim," said Tubagus.

Previously, the police said five people were involved in the case of beating the general chairman of the Indonesian Youth National Committee (KNPI), Haris Pertama. Three of them have been arrested.

The three suspects were arrested at their respective homes in the Tanjung Priok and Bekasi areas.

In this case, two suspects namely, MS and JT are charged with Article 170 of the Criminal Code. Meanwhile, SS was charged with Article 55 of the Criminal Code regarding participating in assisting crimes.

Haris Pertama, became a victim of beatings. Where, the perpetrators are said to be three unidentified people, on Monday, February 21.

According to reports, the beating began when Haris was about to eat at the Garuda restaurant, Cikini, Central Jakarta. However, suddenly three unidentified people appeared who immediately assaulted him. As a result of the beating, Haris suffered a wound on his forehead.
