Magelang City Adds Central Isolation Place At Hotel Safira

MAGELANG - The City Government of Magelang, Central Java, has added a centralized isolation area for residents exposed to COVID-19 at the Safira Hotel, Jalan Jenderal Gatot Soebroto, Magelang City.

"Starting today, the City Government will open the Safira Hotel for centralized isolation to anticipate the third wave of COVID-19 cases," said Magelang Mayor Muchammad Nur Aziz, quoted by Antara, Monday, February 21.

Previously, since early February 2022, the Magelang City Government had opened a centralized isolation area at the Borobudur Hotel on Jalan Ahmad Yani, Magelang City.

He said that the Safira Hotel has 52 rooms with 104 beds.

Based on observations at the Safira Hotel on Monday afternoon, three people had entered to undergo centralized isolation at the hotel.

Aziz said the development of COVID-19 cases in Magelang City was still increasing, currently there are 523 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

"In principle, I only urge you to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 by obeying health protocols, secondly increasing immunity by exercising and eating nutritious food and getting adequate rest," he said.

Meanwhile, the Daily Executor of the Head of the Magelang City Health Office, Dr. Istiqomah, said that the development of COVID-19 cases in the last few days had a significant increase.

"On the twentieth day of February, the daily addition of cases is about 20 cases, 30 cases, 40 cases, but starting two days ago there were 75 cases and yesterday 98 cases," he said.

He said about the graph of cases that are still rising in line with estimates. If yesterday in DKI Jakarta, he said, the wave had already risen at the peak, now it is starting to decrease.

"So in the next two weeks, we must be vigilant for improvements. We anticipate that we will continue to consistently implement the 3T (Tracing, Testing, Treatment)," he said.
