KSAU And Australian Air Force Chief Of Staff Discuss Strengthening Cooperation

JAKARTA - Air Force Chief of Staff (KSAU) Air Marshal Fadjar Prasetyo and Australian Air Force Chief of Staff (CAF RAAF) Air Marshal Mel Hupfeld discussed various opportunities to strengthen cooperation to improve air security in the region.

Fadjar Prasetyo in a written statement from the Indonesian Air Force Information Service (Dispenau), hopes that the relationship that has been established between the Indonesian Air Force and the Australian Air Force can be improved.

The Air Force Chief of Staff received an honorary visit from the Chief of Air Force (CAF) of the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Air Marshal Mel Hupfeld at the Indonesian Air Force Headquarters, Cilangkap, Jakarta, Monday, February 21.

In addition to increasing friendship and discussing increasing cooperation, Mel Hupfeld's visit to Jakarta was to fulfill the KSAU's invitation regarding the ceremony to place the Bintang Swa Bhuwana Paksa Utama award on him.

The Bintang Swa Bhuwana Paksa Utama award will be handed over directly by the TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa to Mel Hupfeld at TNI Headquarters, Jakarta.

Regarding this, the KSAU conveyed his congratulations directly to the Chief of Staff of the Australian Air Force.

Marshal Fadjar is one of the recipients of the Bintang Swa Bhuwana Paksa Utama award. He received the award in 2020.

Bintang Swa Bhuwana Paksa Utama is a token of service given by the Government of Indonesia to a soldier who is believed to have rendered extraordinary services beyond his calling and obligation to promote and build the Indonesian Air Force.

The Australian Air Force Chief of Staff, who will later receive the honorary star, is believed by the Indonesian government to have contributed to strengthening the relationship between the Indonesian Air Force and the Australian Air Force.

Mel Hupfeld's arrival at Headquarters was greeted by a ceremony for the honorary ranks of Indonesian Air Force soldiers in front of the R. Suryadi Suryadarma building.

After inspecting the troops, Fadjar and Mel Hupfeld continued to discuss various current security issues and opportunities to increase cooperation.
