BATAM - The Batam City, Riau Islands COVID-19 Handling Task Force recorded an additional 327 people who were confirmed positive today. That number is the highest during the pandemic.

"Today, the number of positive cases is 327, bringing a cumulative 27,046," said the COVID-19 Task Force, which was shared by Spokesman Azril Apriansyah, quoted by Antara, Saturday, February 19.

The task force also recorded an additional 45 people completing isolation, bringing a total of 25,474 people who recovered, and no additional deaths, so that the cumulative remains of 847 people died throughout the pandemic. The number of active COVID-19 cases is 1,085 people.

Those who are still active with COVID-19, 155 of them are being treated at the Galang Island Hospital, 172 people are undergoing independent isolation, 413 people are in integrated isolation at the Batam Hajj Dormitory, 181 people are still in the evacuation process, and others are being treated at 14 hospitals across the country. city.

"The cure rate is 92.941 percent, the death rate is 3.090 percent, and active cases are 3.949 percent," said the Task Force.

It was also noted that COVID-19 had spread to the buffer islands of Batam City. Of the three buffer sub-districts, two of them are the COVID-19 yellow zone, namely Behindpadang and Galang with one person each still active with COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the other buffer sub-district, Bulang, is now a green zone. On the main island, the entire COVID-19 red zone.

In the Task Force report, it was also stated that the results of the COVID-19 situation assessment as of 17 February 2022 were level 2.

Community transmission received a level 3 assessment with 80.89 confirmed cases per 100 thousand inhabitants per week, hospitalization level 1 with 5.72 per 100 thousand inhabitants per week, and level 1 deaths with 0.12 per 100 thousand inhabitants per week.

Meanwhile, the response capacity is considered adequate. In terms of testing, the positivity rate is 4.93 percent per week, tracking is also considered adequate with a close contact ratio examined of 17.79 per confirmed case per week, and adequate treatment with 22.25 percent BOR per week.
