Clashes Between Sharp Armed Gangs, Cibubur Residents Hope Police Often Patrol

JAKARTA - A tense brawl occurred between two motorcycle gangs in the middle of Jalan PKP Kelapa Dua Wetan, Cibubur, East Jakarta. The two sides attacked each other using sharp weapons and firecrackers.

This action scared the locals. The reason is that dozens of teenagers using motorbikes and armed with sharp weapons made a noise that caused fear for residents around the location.

In the video footage, two groups of motorcycle gangs attack each other using sharp weapons, stones and firecrackers. The brawl lasted about 60 minutes and paralyzed access to vehicular traffic.

According to Akmal, one of the residents said that there were dozens of people involved in the brawl. However, until the perpetrators finally dispersed, not a single police officer was on the scene and broke up the brawl.

"It's already crowded in one direction from there, from under Jalan Raya Bogor. One from Jalan PKP. More or less 50 people from there, at least 20 from there. They carry weapons and firecrackers," Akmal told reporters, Friday, February 18.

After the brawl, the two groups fled towards Cibubur.

"I don't know which child, I've closed. The residents here, Thank God, there were no victims. Uneasy, they want the security to tighten patrols for Cibubur 1 to PKP. Often there are 3 to 4 times (brawls) here," he said.
