BANDA ACEH - The Lhokseumawe City, Aceh Task Force (Satgas) for Handling COVID-19 noted that 23 residents in the area were exposed to COVID-19 throughout 2022.

"Lhokseumawe had zero positive cases of COVID-19 for two months at the end of 2021. However, entering 2022, 23 people have been exposed to COVID-19," said Lhokseumawe City COVID-19 Task Force Spokesperson, Marzuki, quoted by Antara, Thursday, 17 February.

Marzuki detailed that in January 2022 there were three cases of COVID-19. Residents exposed to the corona virus fever rose in February 2022 with the number reaching 20 cases.

Of the total residents exposed to COVID-19, said Marzuki, six of them underwent treatment at the hospital. The rest are self-isolating at home.

"Of the 23 people who have been confirmed positive for COVID-19, five of them have been declared cured. While none have died," said Marzuki.

With the number of cases, said Marzuki, Lhokseumawe City is included in the implementation of the third level of community activity restrictions (PPKM). The PPKM level three is based on the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs dated February 14, 2022.

Marzuki said the cumulative total of cases in Lhokseumawe City since the government declared the COVID-19 pandemic had reached 1,715 people. The number of patients who finished monitoring or declared cured was 1,617 people and 80 patients died.

"We remind the public to continue to comply with health protocols and follow the COVID-19 vaccine vaccination to form group immunity, considering that the COVID-19 pandemic is still not over," said Marzuki.
