West Java Police Chief: Vaccination Will Be Free If Citizens Ignore Prokes

BANDUNG - West Java Police Chief Inspector General Suntana said the high rate of COVID-19 vaccination in West Java would be useless if the people ignored health protocols (prokes).

"Even though our vaccination rate is high, if we are not disciplined in our health procedures, we will also easily become targets of COVID-19," said Suntana when inspecting the vaccination booth at Maranatha Christian University, Bandung City, West Java, as reported by Antara, Thursday, February 17.

According to him, the control and prevention of the transmission of COVID-19 really depends on the discipline of the community to implement health procedures during this surge in the Omicron variant.

He said that currently the COVID-19 vaccination rate in West Java was quite high. According to him, the first dose of vaccination has reached 88 percent of the people of West Java, while the second vaccination has reached 63 percent.

Even though it is already high, now West Java is the area that has the highest daily number of COVID-19 cases nationally, which is 15,196 cases, followed by DKI Jakarta with the addition of 12,388 daily cases.

Therefore, the West Java Police Chief warned the public to increase awareness of the importance of health protocols. If there is no interest, people do not need to travel outside the home.

"The public is advised to be disciplined in health procedures, both at home and in the surrounding environment, and not to come to crowds," said Suntana.

In addition, the West Java Police Chief asked the public to visit vaccination centers for those who have not received the COVID-19 vaccine.

"We ask the public to immediately visit the vaccination centers for those who have not carried out the first and second vaccinations. For those who have already received the second vaccination, take the third vaccination," said Suntana.
