BPBD Tangerang Regency Records 12 Fire Incidents That Occurred During January 2022 Due To Electric Short Circuit And Stove Exploding

TANGERANG – Throughout January 2022, the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Tangerang Regency, Banten has recorded 12 fire incidents.

Head of the Emergency and Logistics Division of the Tangerang Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Abdul Munir in Tangerang, said the 12 fires consisted of 1 factory building, 3 shop houses, 3 waste stalls and 5 house buildings.

"There are 12 fires in total during January 2022," Munir said, quoting Antara, Wednesday, February 16.

Munir said that the causes of the fires varied, ranging from an electric short circuit to burning due to a stove.

"The majority due to an electric short circuit," he said simply.

According to him, many fires are caused by electrical shorts due to improperly arranged power lines or cables.

In addition, the majority of people never re-check the condition of the existing cables, so it is very dangerous and causes an electrical short that can lead to fire.

"Electric plugs are dangerous, if you want to travel, you should turn off objects that use electricity," he said.

Meanwhile, the Commander of the Fire Brigade, Margono Agus added, as much as possible the community is always ready to have a Light Fire Extinguisher (APRA) at home or at their business location, so that when there is a spark, it can be immediately extinguished.

"The community must always have APRA ready. In order to minimize the occurrence of fires," he said.
