Gus Yahya Visits The East Java Police To Ensure The Security Of NU's 99th Harlah In Bangkalan

SURABAYA - The General Chairperson of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board, Kiai Haji Yahya Cholil Staquf, visited the East Java Police Headquarters, to ensure security ahead of NU's 99th Birthday (Harlah) which will be held in Bangkalan.

"Our arrival here met with the East Java Police Chief Inspector General Nico Afinta, the final coordination of the security for Harlah NU which will be held tomorrow in Bangkalan," said Gus Yahya accompanied by PBNU Secretary General Saifullah Yusuf at the East Java Police Headquarters, Surabaya, as reported by Antara, Wednesday, February 16.

Regarding the preparation of the harlah, Gus Yahya said that Gus Ipul (as the secretary general of PBNU Saifullah Yusuf) would mature and hoped that the entire implementation of the harlah would run smoothly.

"Of course with security from the apparatus, in this case the police. Hopefully tomorrow it can run smoothly. We thank the East Java Police Chief for his cooperation. However, the cooperation between NU and the National Police is already quite good," he said.

Meanwhile, the Kapolda, Inspector General Nico Afinta, said that for security during the commemoration of the 99th NU Harlah which will be held in Bangkalan, they have alerted joint members, namely the East Java Police, Bangkalan Police, Sampang Police and Pamekasan Police.

"Earlier we had a meeting with the general chairman of PBNU and the Secretary General of PBNU. During the meeting we discussed securing NU's 99th anniversary activities," Nico said.

For the number of personnel deployed, the East Java Regional Police have prepared as many as 600 personnel.

In addition, the Regional Police also discussed related to the declaration of the COVID-19 vaccination, including its application in Islamic boarding schools in East Java.

"In the future, we will continue to work together so that East Java is safe and the community is safe and prosperous," said the Kapolda.
