A number of condolences wreaths filled the funeral home of senior artist Dorce Gamalama in Cibening Village (ANTARA)

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy and a number of Indonesian artists sent flowers as a sign of condolences for the death of Dorce Gamalama.

Dorce's funeral home is located in Cibening RT002/RW01, Jatibening Village, Pondok Gede District, Bekasi City, West Java.

As of Wednesday at 14.30 WIB, there were dozens of condolences, although the condition of the funeral home was deserted without any activity from the mourners, only a number of members of the media and local residents were around the residence of the late Dorce Gamalama.

"This house is known as one of the places where Dorce and his children live and also serves as his social foundation," said Chairman of RT 002/RW01 Syahroni in Bekasi as reported by Antara, Wednesday, February 16.

In addition to the words of Jokowi and Muhadjir, there was also a wreath from the General Chairperson of the PDI-P Megawati Soekarnoputri and the Secretary General of the PPP PDI-P Hasto Kristiyanto.

In addition to the flower bouquets, a number of neighbors and friends of the late also attended Dorce Gamalama's residence in Bekasi City. They intend to mourn and pay their last respects to the late senior artist.

It is known that Dorce Gamalama's family did not bring the body from the hospital to the funeral home in Bekasi. The senior artist who has been active in the entertainment world for decades was brought to the Al-Hayyu Lubang Buaya Mosque, East Jakarta. One of the neighbors who was present, Haji Yarlis, admitted that he did not know that Dorce's body had not been brought to the house in Bekasi.

"I don't know, because I don't know the information, (to Dorce's house in Bekasi) I want to go to his house," he said.

He admitted that he had a long-standing friendship with the late Dorce and had been active together in Minang traditional organizations, West Sumatra.

"I as a Minang also used to join organizations together if there was halal bi halal or if I liked to meet him. I witnessed that he was a good person, the community and Minang people were very active, high social spirit, often helped out, with orphans he often help," he said.

It is known that the senior artist, who was known to be close to six presidents from Suharto to Joko Widodo, was reported to have died this Wednesday at 07.30 WIB after undergoing treatment for three weeks at Pertamina Central Hospital Jakarta due to COVID-19.

The owner's real name, Dedi Yuliardi Ashadi, died at the age of 58. Before he died, Dorce had a history of illness and was even unconscious in the ICU. He also suffers from kidney stones and blood sugar.
