Habib Umar Alhamid: Don't Pit The TNI And Muslims Against Each Other

JAKARTA - The Commander of the Generation of Love for the Country (Gentari) Habib Umar Alhamid asked all parties to be aware of attempts that try to pit the TNI and Muslims against each other and asked to end these efforts.

"I ask all parties to be aware of the latent danger of 'fights against each other'. Because the danger of fighting each other is greater than the danger of COVID-19, the impact of this nation can be divided," he pleaded.

He also stressed that all parties should not be suspicious of each other. Dialogue and friendship through discussion forums or seminars should be prioritized.

"Because I believe that the TNI and the people are one. Like the motto of the TNI so far, namely from the people, for the people, and by the people. And we all know that the TNI is not yours, but ours, the Indonesian people," he said.

Habib Umar assessed that there were certain parties who tried to pit the TNI and Muslims against each other. This can be seen from the recent tensions between the TNI and Muslims.

"I saw that this incident was not an ordinary incident. Because it was structured and massive," said Habib Umar.

Habib Umar gave an example of the reduction of a number of billboards for mass organizations figures carried out by the TNI at a number of points spread across DKI Jakarta. According to him, why should the TNI take down the billboards? Even though there are still Satpol PP.

"Maybe at that time no one dared to take him down, so the TNI was instructed to be considered close and loved by the people," he said.

Then, Habib Umar also gave an example of KSAD Dudung's statement about "God is not an Arab" which caused a polemic. According to him, KSAD Dudung's statement, explicitly and implicitly, would be easy for anyone to understand that there was nothing wrong with that statement.

The majority of people understand that the full sentence has nothing wrong with the "meaning and intent" of the sentence. However, there are always parties who deliberately take advantage of the situation to make various efforts based on the interests of their own group, such as looking for a stage, seeking sympathy. , or maybe deliberately discredit existing national figures.

"Therefore, I suggest to stop such efforts. We are a big country, we can do many more productive things together, prioritize tabayyun, promote unity and integrity," he explained.

Separately, the Head of Rekat Indonesia Raya Eka Gumilar conveyed the same thing. According to him, it is not permissible to judge someone's statement according to their own perspective or taste. He then asked all parties to prioritize tabayun.

“Tabayun is very important. Also do not be easy to judge the statements of others. That's not allowed. Let's uphold the unity and integrity of this nation," he said.
