JAKARTA - The number of Jabodetabek KRL passengers during the week of implementing PPKM Level 3 has decreased. This is in line with the tightening of a number of activities from the previous implementation of PPKM Level 2.

VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter, Anne Purba explained, prior to the implementation of PPKM Level 3, the average volume of KRL users on weekdays in February reached 436,365 passengers per day. During PPKM Level 3, that number decreased.

"Since PPKM Level 3 took effect on February 8, the average volume of users on weekdays is 377,736 or a decrease of 13.4 percent," said Anne in her statement, Tuesday, February 15.

Anne also noted a decrease in the volume of KRL passengers on the busiest day, namely Monday. On Monday, February 7, the day before the implementation of PPKM Level 3, the number of users in the morning until 08.00 WIB was 116,705 people.

On Monday, February 14, after a week of PPKM Level 3, the number of users at the same hour was 114,694 people. This figure is reduced by 2 percent from the previous week.

However, Anne noted that several departure stations were still crowded with passengers, and even experienced an increase in the number of users on Monday.

The stations are Bogor Station with 9,281 users, Bekasi Station with 6,508 users, Cikarang Station with 3,153 users, and Sudimara Station with 3,421 users.

"According to field observations, a number of departure stations are still crowded with users, including Bogor Station, which rose 3 percent from Monday last week, Bekasi Station rose 7 percent, Cikarang Station rose 13 percent, and Sudimara Station rose 4 percent," explained Anne.

As is known, KRL services during the PPKM Level-3 Jabodetabek area will continue to operate with 1,005 trips per day from 04.00 to 22.00 WIB.

KAI Commuter requires users to show vaccine certificates before boarding the KRL, use double masks or masks according to the provisions, and urge users to keep their distance both at stations and inside the KRL.

KAI Commuter prohibits children under five from riding the KRL except for medical purposes. Then, there is a time limit for the elderly to take the KRL with only being allowed from 10:00 to 14:00 WIB.
