Positive Cases Of COVID-19 In North Sumatra Add 582 People

MEDAN - The COVID-19 Task Force (Satgas) reported that the number of positive cases of the corona virus in North Sumatra increased by 582 people as of February 9. The total accumulated cases of COVID-19 became 108,953 cases.

Based on data from the North Sumatra COVID-19 Handling Task Force, it was explained that 580 cases were local transmissions and two cases were foreign travellers.

In addition to the new cases, there was also an increase in the number of patients who recovered from the SARS-CoV-2 type virus as many as 34 people so that the accumulation increased to 103,390 cases.

Reported by Antara, Wednesday, February 9, there were no additional deaths due to COVID-19 in North Sumatra, so the total still stands at 2,904 people.

With this addition, there are currently 2,659 active cases or patients undergoing treatment and isolation due to COVID-19. That number shows an additional 548 people compared to Tuesday, February 8th.

Nationally, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday increased by 46,843 cases, of which 46,396 people were local transmissions and 447 foreign travelers. The current accumulation is 4,626,936 cases.

Based on these data, the most cases came from DKI Jakarta with 14,353 cases, followed by West Java with 11,201 cases, Banten with 6,026 cases, East Java with 4,385 cases and Bali 2,556 cases.

Nationally recovered cases of COVID-19 increased by 14,016 people, currently the total has reached 4,216,328 people. The most recovered cases came from DKI Jakarta with an additional 8,900 cases.

Nationally, the number of deaths due to COVID-19 increased by 65 people, bringing the total to 144,784 people.

The COVID-19 Task Force asked all components of the community to remain disciplined in carrying out health protocols such as wearing masks, washing hands and maintaining distance.

Then, it is expected not to carry out social mobility that has a high risk of COVID-19 transmission so that it can reduce the number of positive cases in the country.
