In The Bribery Case Of Judge Itong, KPK Summons 3 Witnesses, Including The Unair Professor

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has examined three witnesses related to the alleged bribery in handling the case at the Suraba District Court, East Java, which ensnared Judge Itong Isnaeni Hidayat. One of them is an academic named Yudi Her Oktaviono.

Acting Spokesperson for the KPK for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, said the investigation was carried out today. Yudi is also known to be a Professor at Airlangga University (Unair) Surabaya, East Java.

"The examination of the witness of the bribery case in the Surabaya District Court, East Java for suspect IIH. The examination was carried out in the examination room of the East Java Regional Police Ditreksrimsus," Ali told reporters, Wednesday, February 9.

Apart from Yudi, Ali said investigators also examined two other witnesses. They are Mohammad Sofyanto who is a private party and an entrepreneur named Achmad Prihantoyo.

It was not explained further about the examination, including what materials will be investigated from the three witnesses. However, all three are suspected of knowing the alleged corruption committed by Itong et al.

As previously reported, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) determined that the inactive Surabaya District Court Judge Itong Isnaeni Hidayat and the substitute clerk, Hamdan, were the recipients of bribes. While the giver is a lawyer and representative of PT Soyu Giri Primedika, Hendro Kasiono.

This bribe was given by Hendro Kasiono so that the decision on the PT SGP case was according to his party's wishes, namely that the company was declared disbanded with a divisible asset value of IDR 50 billion.

The money given by Hendro to Hamdan was carried out in the parking lot of the Surabaya District Court Building amounting to Rp140 million as a sign of completion. However, before the money was in the hands of Judge Itong, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) carried out a hand arrest operation (OTT).
