Returning From Jakarta, The Deputy Regent Of Agam Is Positive For COVID-19

JAKARTA - Deputy Regent of Agam, West Sumatra, Trinda Farhan Satria tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday, September 6. He tested positive after traveling to Jakarta on Tuesday, September 1.

"From Tuesday 1 September to Thursday 3 September, I have to go to Jakarta and possibly catch it on the plane," said Trinda in Lubukbasung, quoted by Antara, Monday, September 7.

Before traveling, he did a swab test and the results were negative. After this trip he returned for a swab test and came back positive.

Before being tested positive for COVID-19, Trinda went to the Agam General Election Commission (KPU) to submit registration documents for regional head candidates.

At that time, his party had tried to comply with the COVID-19 health protocol by using a mask every time he did his activity, when speaking in public he always sprayed the microphone with germ or bacteria repellent and others.

"In a pandemic, anyone is likely to catch COVID-19. Efforts such as adhering to health protocols can prevent transmission," he said.

Chief Executive of Agam's COVID-19 Response Acceleration Task Force (GTP2), Martias Wanto, asked the health team to check the deputy regent's condition.

"Based on the results of the examination, it was stated that the deputy regent's condition was in quite good condition," he added.

The health team also took samples of all people who were at the deputy regent's official residence, including family members.

Meanwhile, to break the chain of the spread of COVID-19, spraying of disinfectant was also carried out at the deputy regent's official residence and the Agam KPU office.

"Furthermore, the health team will also trace people who have direct contact with the deputy regent," he said.
