There Are Employees Affected By COVID-19, Khong Guan Factory Will Be Temporarily Closed

JAKARTA - The East Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration and Energy Agency will temporarily close the PT Khong Guan Biscuit Factory. The closure was carried out because a number of employees were confirmed positive for COVID-19.

"If it is true that there is something positive (COVID-19), then the procedure (closure) must be followed," said East Jakarta Sub-dept. Head of National Transportation and Transmigration Agency Galuh Prasiwi as quoted by Antara, Monday, September 7.

However, this assurance is still waiting for the conclusion from the results of monitoring and evaluation at the factory location which is scheduled to take place, Tuesday (8/9).

"We'll confirm again tomorrow," he said.

From the results of the initial coordination with the director and human resources (HR) Khong Guan, according to Galuh, it is not yet known the identities of employees who were exposed to COVID-19.

"We do not yet know who was affected. The number is also not known," he said.

Separately, the Ciracas Subdistrict Health Center reported that 28 out of a total of 170 rapid test takers at the Khong Guan factory on August 28, 2020 were reported as being reactive to COVID-19. From the results of the swab test, it was reported that two employees had tested positive for COVID-19.

"Information was obtained from the company that the one who received confirmation was positive in the marketing department, while the other employee, HRD, will check whether he is an employee of Khong Guan or not," said Head of Ciracas Mamad sub-district.
