JAKARTA - The Malang City Government asked business actors in the area to be disciplined in implementing the use of the PeduliLindung application in an effort to minimize the risk of spreading the corona virus.

Malang Mayor Sutiaji said, one of the modern retail stores visited by someone who claimed to be exposed to COVID-19 on Jalan Semeru, Klojen District did not apply the use of the PeduliLindung application.

"There is no Care to Protect, that is a condition. So, this is negligence. Second, hand washing is also available, but it is not maximized," said Sutiaji, Monday, February 7, as reported by Antara.

Sutiaji explained that with the indication of a violation at the modern retail store, the Malang City Government through the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) would file an Examination Report (BAP) related to health protocol violations.

According to him, business actors, especially those in the Malang City area, must comply with regulations regarding the implementation of health protocols for handling COVID-19. This is intended to keep the economy running while minimizing the risk of the spread of COVID-19.

"Please, if we want the economy to rise, we must use health protocols. One of them is the rule, we must use Care to Protect, we must strengthen it," he said.

Meanwhile, the Acting Head of the Malang City Civil Service Police (Satpol PP) Handi Priyanto said that one of the modern retail stores that did not implement the use of the PeduliLindung application would be given a minor criminal sanction.

"The sanction is in the form of a minor crime (tipiring). The modern retailer does not install the PeduliLindung application, so it is a violation of health protocols," he said.

With the PeduliLindung application not being implemented in modern retail stores, he continued, the number of visitors was not monitored. Whereas the PeduliLindung application can detect people's movements whether they are red or green.

"It can be seen, the status is green or red, can enter or not. It is the responsibility of the manager to ask visitors to enter using the PeduliLindung application," he said.

Previously, information circulated on social media that there was a visitor who claimed to be confirmed positive for COVID-19 and continued to shop at the modern retail store.

In an upload to Reza Fahd Adrian's Facebook account on January 27, 2022, he wrote that he had canceled his vacation to Bali due to exposure to COVID-19. After being declared exposed to COVID-19, the person chose to take a vacation and tour the cities of Malang and Batu.

With this incident, the Malang City Government tracked dozens of employees who worked at the modern retail store. Of the 30 employees who underwent an antigen swab test, one person tested positive for the corona virus.
