JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menkomarves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said the PPKM assessment level in the Jabodetabek agglomeration area had risen to Level 3.

Thus, the implementation of PPKM DKI Jakarta, Bogor City, Bogor Regency, Depok City, Bekasi City, Bekasi Regency, Tangerang City, Tangerang Regency, and South Tangerang City for the next week will increase by one level for the next week.

Apart from Jabodetabek, Luhut said a number of other areas that were previously under PPKM Level 2 also experienced tightening to become PPKM Level 3, namely the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Bali, and Greater Bandung.

"Based on the current assessment level, we convey that the agglomeration of Jabodetabek, Special Region of Yogyakarta, Bali, Greater Bandung will go to (PPKM) Level 3," Luhut said in a virtual press conference, Monday, February 7.

Luhut said that the tightening of PPKM in the areas mentioned during the week did not occur due to the high number of cases, but also because of the low tracing. Especially in Bali Province, the PPKM assessment rose to level 3, one of which was due to the occupancy of inpatient beds for COVID-19 patients. increase.

"This is related to a decision that can be seen later in the Inmendagri," said Luhut.

Luhut revealed that the trend of increasing cases of COVID-19 in Indonesia was increasing very rapidly. However, in general the impact on hospitalization and overall mortality is still much smaller than the spread of the Delta variant.

"For example, the increase in cases in DKI Jakarta, West Java, Banten has increased very rapidly. However, the number of hospitalizations and deaths is still relatively low and smaller than the Gelta wave. However, Bali Province needs special attention," explained Luhut.
