Former Stepfather Rape 4-Year-Old Boy: Head Of National Commission For Child Protection To Meet Victims In Koja

JAKARTA - The head of the National Commission for Child Protection, Arist Merdeka Sirait, highlighted the alleged rape case of a minor with the initials N (4), which was perpetrated by his former stepfather, IN (50), a resident of Koja, North Jakarta.

Arist said, his party plans to meet the victim to check the truth of the case.

"Saturday tomorrow we will meet the victim. So tomorrow the mitigation and social rehabilitation team for children will meet the victims," said Arist Merdeka Sirait when contacted by VOI, Friday, February 4.

In addition, Arist also plans to meet with the North Jakarta Metro Police. This is done so that the police immediately follow up on the case.

"The North Jakarta Police will act as soon as possible and we will coordinate with North Jakarta Police investigators," he explained.

Arist revealed that there was no reason for the police not to investigate the case. He said it was an extraordinary crime.

"Because it applies Lex specialis (principle of interpretation) and the crime is an extraordinary crime. The penalty is above 5 years, I don't think there is any reason not to follow up immediately," he said.

Previously, it was reported that Eka, the head of the local RW, explained that the alleged rape by IN had occurred since January 2021. SH, the victim's mother, at that time had a stroke and had vision problems, so she could not treat the victim who was under 5 years old.

“Because his mother had a stroke and it ran to the brain, so his eyesight was reduced. We think that person, the ex-husband of the victim's mother (the suspect) wants to take care of the victim. Because I want to take care of (the victim)," he said.

While N was staying at the suspect's house, neighbors often heard the victim's screams from IN's house. But the neighbors around did not pay attention because they thought it was a normal commotion.
