KSP: Ministry Of PUPR Ready To Build Residential ASN, TNI-Police At IKN

JAKARTA - Deputy I Chief of Presidential Staff, Febry Calvin Tetelepta, said the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) is in the early stages ready to build 2,500 residential units for ASN and TNI-Police personnel in the State Capital (IKN) in East Kalimantan.

"In a coordination meeting, the PUPR Ministry conveyed its readiness to build 2,500 residential units for the initial transfer of ASN (State Civil Apparatus) and TNI (Indonesian Army)-Police members in the IKN area", said Febry in a KSP press release in Jakarta, reported by Antara on Thursday, February 3.

Febry explained, the number of occupancies prepared by the PUPR Ministry was not as much as the number of ASN and TNI-Police personnel who would be transferred to the IKN area. This, said Febry because it involves financing issues.

"The PUPR (Ministry) financing is only sufficient for 2,500 dwellings, while the relocation of ASN including the TNI-Police in the early stages of more than seven thousand personnel", he said.

Febry ensured that the financing constraint would not be an obstacle because the government was formulating another scheme for financing.

"The government is formulating other financing schemes, either through Government and Business Entity Cooperation (PPP) or through empowering the role of the private sector and SOEs", said Febry.

Citing provisional data from the Ministry of National Development Planning (PPN)/Bappenas, Febry explained the planned number of ASN and TNI-Police members who will be transferred to IKN in the early stages as many as 7,687 people with details of 1,971 ASN and 5,716 TNI-Police personnel, including the Presidential Security Forces (Paspampres), the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), and other ranks.

"The amount is still not final, because there has been no official decision. The presidential Chief of Staff will push for an immediate decision. Because this will involve the distribution of how many have offices in sharing offices and how many are scattered", said Febry.
