Finally, Anies Asks Luhut To Stop Jakarta's 100 Percent PTM One Month Ahead

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan finally plans to temporarily stop face-to-face learning (PTM) with 100 percent capacity in Jakarta.

This plan, said Anies, had been submitted to the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan as the PPKM Coordinator for Java and Bali.

This was done because of the increasing number of COVID-19 cases, accompanied by the findings of COVID-19 cases in schools.

"This afternoon, I communicated with Pak Luhut as the Head of the Java-Bali COVID-19 Task Force to submit a proposal for Jakarta, PTM or face-to-face learning to be abolished for the next one month," Anies said when met in the East Jakarta area, Wednesday, January 2.

Thus, at this time Anies admitted that his party was still discussing the proposal to terminate PTM 100 percent with the central government.

Regarding when to stop PTM and continue online distance learning (PJJ), Anies will announce if a decision has been made.

"This is being discussed. After the discussion is over, we will tell you what the results are. But we are well aware that conditions in Jakarta require children to reduce risks and the suggestion from Jakarta is that we stop PTM and we 100 percent study from home. Later the results will be like What, we will update later," explained Anies. Previously, Anies stated that he would monitor the PTM process 100 percent. This monitoring is a follow-up to President Joko Widodo's request to evaluate the current PTM process.

"We are continuously monitoring," said Anies at the Hian Thian Siang Tee Palmerah Temple, Tuesday, February 1.

According to Anies, one of the factors to be considered in tightening community activities is hospital occupancy. So, it is currently under the supervision of the provincial government to determine steps related to PTM.

"Well, when there is an increase in hospital occupancy, the control is to reduce mobility. That's been an experience for one and a half years, almost two years. So now we are continuously monitoring hospital occupancy," said Anies.
