Duet 'Safe' Akhyar-Salman Election Declaration In Medan Tomorrow

JAKARTA - Akhyar Nasution-Salman Alfarisi will declare his candidacy as mayor-deputy mayor of Medan, North Sumatra, tomorrow. This duet carries the tagline Medan Aman.

"Tomorrow the declaration will be held at one of the volunteer posts in Sei Batang Hari Medan," said chairman of the Akhyar-Salman declaration committee, Suwandi Purba, Thursday, September 3.

Akhyar-Salman planned to wear a white shirt. Two supporting parties, namely PKS-Democrat, were also present at the declaration which limited the number of participants because it followed health protocols.

"Akhyar-Salman will deliver a speech," he said.

The plan is for Akhyar-Salman to register with the KPU on Saturday, September 5. Akhyar-Salman will move from Medan Merdeka Field by bicycle to the KPU office.

The Akhyar-Salman duet carries the tagline Aman which is an acronym for the names of the two. Akhyar, who has the status of Plt Mayor of Medan, is paired with Salman, the Deputy Chairman of the North Sumatra DPRD who is also the Acting Chair of the Medan PKS DPD.

Akhyar-Salman will face Bobby Nasution-Aulia Rachman. This coalition is supported by PDIP, Gerindra, NasDem, PAN, Golkar, PPP and PSI. Bobby-Aulia carried the Medan Berkah tagline by initiating community collaboration.
