JAKARTA - PBNU General Chair KH Yahya Cholil Staquf (Gus Yahya) officially launched the construction of a new PBNU office in the new State Capital (IKN) called Nusantara.

Gus Yahya in his statement in Jakarta, Sunday, said that in addition to offices, PBNU will also build hospitals, universities and Islamic boarding schools in the archipelago, which are located in Sepaku District, North Penajam Paser Regency.

"PBNU preceded asking for permission to participate in occupying the National Capital of the Archipelago," said Gus Yahya.

According to him, for the construction of a new office, PBNU has also had discussions with both the Central Government and regional governments.

"Alhamdulillah, there have been talks since yesterday. and Mr. Regent (Penajam Paser Utara) is ready to facilitate. So that as soon as the Nusantara Capital City office is officially occupied there, there will be a new PBNU office building," said Gus Yahya.

The name Nusantara as the State Capital, said Gus Yahya, could actually be associated with the world of santri.

"The archipelago is NU, students, the government and the people," said Gus Yahya.

According to Gus Yahya, when the idea began to build a new capital city, at that time many regions volunteered to become the new capital city.

"I think the people here don't even think about it. So what became the capital city did not even think about it.
